Re: wat engine would work better?

Only GT-Rs use the RB26. Other Skylines use the RB20 and RB25.

Re: wat engine would work better?

Wow dude, you dont know too much about Skys do ya? Well you came to the right spot, these people will help you out, and answer every question you have. Anyways, all GTR come with the RB26DETT, HICAS and ATTESSA. RB26DETT stands for Racing Bred 2560cc DOHC ECCS (Electronic concentrate control system) Twin turbochargers. HICAS is HIgh Capacity Active Steering. Its pretty much a sweet ride, but if you dont have the money, just got with an R32 GTS-T, not a GTR by far, but the RB20DET can be boosted up pretty easily. Any more questions post (sorry I didnt go more in depth, I gotta run) peace foo's

Re: wat engine would work better?

O and man keep in mind with supercharging, for every 100hp that a supercharger adds, it takes away 30hp, due to its crank driven action... For every 100hp a turbo adds, it only takes away 5hp. But lag shouldnt be that big of a problem if your running two turbines, one for low presure, one for high presure. So when your at low RPM (around 2500 i'd say) the low presure would be keeping you pretty consistant through your boost level. Then at around 3000-3500 RPM your high presure turbo will kick in handling on RPM to the redline. Im pretty sure thats how most Skylines, Supras, Z32's, and VR-4's are layed out. That is why I am not too fond of single turbos, but hey I could deffinately be wrong... Any imput anyone? Peace

Re: wat engine would work better?

So you lose some power with turbos? I'd sure like to hear your explanation on how turbos have parasitic drag like a supercharger.

sure BST are for top speed, if u wanna twin then ur lookin for bttr acceleration, but how can they lose power? wen wood a supercharger b bttr than a turbo? n plus bodyboarders do rule, we can ride waves just as big n there r ten times more trix, can u do a barrel roll or ARS on ur surfboard, assuming u do surf:P but nah surfin rocks but id prefer to bodyboard rock on

Re: wat engine would work better?

Yeah, that's turbo lag. It takes time for exhaust gases to build up and spool the turbo. Boswell is talking about turbos actually taking power away, as in parasitic drag, like a supercharger.

Loss for both power adder differ. Turbos are not all 95%, and Superchargers are not 70% efficient.

Turbos are more efficient, but its a lot closer than that.

My Supercharger is 72%, but they can be high as 80%.

Re: wat engine would work better?

Yea im not exactly sure why they take away 5hp, I really should have found out before I posted, but I know they do. With superchargers, its a constant flow of power, although horse power is compromised in its set-up. But I'd like to see a bodyboarder drop in at Half Moon Bay... THAT would be a site, but I dont think a human being torn apart would be very appealing, . O yea, I surf . I used to bodyboard, I had a BOOBS Royal 42, sick ass board, then I relized that moves were limited... So I got a canable and went at it! Peace foo's
