Gauge faces

Ok, I'm not going to pretend that I am very mechanically adept, but I figured that I should be able to do this. I am, however, having a problem removing the needles. I was wondering if anyone out there knew of the way that they are supposed to be removed. I have a second instrument cluster to tinker with, but I really would like to do this with as little agony as possible. Thanks

You pull them straight off. Couple things to remember:

1. Make sure you know exactly where it was pointing so you can put it back in the right spot

2. The stem it's on is very weak and if you crank it too hard to either side it will snap and you're screwed. You might even be able to break it just by pulling too hard. Take your time and work it off.

Here's the deal. For anyone looking to do this. I, as a person who has tried to do it myself and failed miserably on an extra gauge that didn't work, recommend professional installation. Reasons, you will need to get your speedometer recalibrated if you put the needle back even a little off, not to mention that if you break the needle off, you have to replace it. I found a speedometer shop in my town (they're a little hard to come by) that would install the gauges and wire them in, not to mention recalibrate the speedometer. It was well worth the money to get the problem solved.

NOTE: It isn't easy to get someone who will install them professionally (unless you have a friendly speedometer shop), just a warning.

Good advice, it really is easy to break the stem. I don't think I would do it myself.
