1979, can I upgrade wheels to 16" ??

Hello all,

Can I put 16" wheels on my 1979 Boneville?

Also-----

Does anyone know the exact size/bolts on the stock Boneville? Is ther ea "bolt pattern" # or identification?

yes

the bolt pattern should be 5 on 4.75"
unless you have the big brakes then it's 5 on 5"
but i don't know if big brakes were available for coupes
you can measure...
take a wheel off or look at the spare
measure from the edge of a lug hole to
the center of the lug hole futhest from the one you started with. 2 will be the same distance away
and that distance will be the bolt pattern.
its hard to explian in words
i drew a picture but couldn't find a way to add it
i learned from a summit catalog illustration

be careful about clearance of different size tires
but those cars have lots of room in the wheel wells
theres lots of height room but id worry about width

i hope this information helps you might want to double check it though before spending lots of hard earned cash
