primer yellow?
ok, first off, let me say i've checked the faq, and i couldn't find any info on this.
i want to spray paint a car yellow, and i heard yellow is a colour that you tend to see the undercolour thru...(weak colour) the shell that im painting onto is also yellow... so if i were to use primer, wouldn't it do nothing but wrong? or is there such a thing as yellow primer? please recomend me something to prime with, thanks. |

Re: primer yellow?
Try Oven Cleaner or Brake Fluid to strip the paint. I am in Brisbane (northside).

Re: primer yellow?
Yellow body plastic is somewhat translucent, and yellow paint is weak. So, if you don't use primer, the result will look like a cheap plastic toy, no matter how many layers of yellow you put. And more paint will kill the details. Also, you can't paint the interior in dark color, because it'd affect the exterior. That's why you use primer, even if the shell is already yellow. I use tan as the base color, when the body is going to be yellow, and it works well.
