Catalytic Converter Rattles inside?

My 96 Ranger's catalytic converter is rattling on the inside. Anyone else had this same prob.?

my brothers 96 s-10 did the same thing. we found out that the ceramic interior was deteriorating. he then bought a new 1.

Well it turns out the inside wasn't rattling. It was the heat shield on top of the catalytic converter. I bent it up and problem solved.

Another fix for heat shield rattle is to put a few large hose clamps together and put it around the heat shields to keep it tight.
