"Skinnies"
I am going to be buying "skinnies" for the front of Hyde for the upcoming season. I have never driven with 4" wide front tires before .... and coming from the land of lateral gri and autocross, I must confess that 4" wide rims/tires seem inherently dangerous.
Is there anything I need to be worried about? ... anything I should know? I realize I do not want to demostrate the wonderful handling ability of the MR2 while these are fitted on the car ... I am speaking specifically about going down the track. What should I expect?

Re: "Skinnies"
less rolling resistance nd lower e.t's!
seriously though, there is less control, but in drag, not too bad. take a practice pass or two to get the feel.

Re: "Skinnies"
Just make sure you take sharp corners slower. Not sure if your car is lowered, but you want to have the correct camber set. I have seen pics of Weld Prostars that cracked do to miss-use and poor alignment.

Thanks for the heads up fellows. I really appreciate the help.
My car is lowered properly and I had an alignment done ... so I am assuming if I am only using these to go down the track I should be OK. I am just just to a car that handles flawlessly ... so the change will be a bit disturbing.

Re: "Skinnies"
What do you plan on running for rims and tires?

Weld Draglites 15 X 3.5
... I believe the tires are going to be Hoosiers. My rears, I am using my 16" with BFG Drag Radials. When money allows, I will get Draglites for the rear as well with a slick.

Re: "Skinnies"
Nice. The BFG's have great hook for a street legal tire, but tread life sucks, that's why I went with Nitto's. I too plan on getting draglites with slicks and skinnys as soon as I have the extra cash.
