Fiberglass Blitz Kit from Ebaymotors.com Doesn't fit!!!

K, first off, let me say that to me, the blitz kit is the most sleekest, beautifullest kit ever designed for the 2nd gen Eclipse. Well, after paying $500 for the whole kit off Ebaymotors.com, i got it and the fiberglass was so damn thin that i was afraid to even handle it. So then after long hours of extra fiberglass work, me and my friend start prep work for primer and then paint. After we sprayed her an awesome red to match the existing red on the car, we stood in amazment as it shined so awesome and was so damn smooth. Umm k so then we get ready to put the actual kit on the car. We started with the back. With alittle force we finally got her bolted in and we were satisfied with how it looked. K, that part went well. now we get ready to apply the side skirts. Thats were it got really tricky. it was as if the kit was molded wrong. After hours of cutting and thinking of how we could get it to fit right, we finally decide to leave it up to the pro's. We took the car to a pro body shop. Told us that they would have it on in a couple days and to check back. We go to pick up the newly Blitzed Eclipse and we find that the peices were still on the floor and not on the car. Then the guy comes up to us and says.... It's not gonna work. My heart just dropped, after all that hard work he tells us that. he said the front and the sides were molded wrong and would have to take extreme modification to make it actually work. Says he will have to cut my front protection bar in the front just to make it fit, and says that the middle of the front nose is flat and needs to be lifted. So they are gonna have to break the beautifully painted front bumper. They tell me that the only way they can make the sides fit is to actually mold them on to the car. I'm not sure about that idea. I mean how would it look to have your side skirts molded to the car as if it were one peice? Let me know what you think about this tragic problem. Or if anyone else ran into problems with there body kit. Sorry for the long ass story but hey, just letting everyone know, lol. I'm so mad as hell with the guy i bought this from or who ever molded it. Thanks guys!

Re: Fiberglass Blitz Kit from Ebaymotors.com Doesn't fit!!!

Sorry to hear about your dilemma man. Do you know the ebay name of the guy you got the kit off of? I'm overseas and bought a kit for my car while I was over here but haven't gotten to put it on. If it's from the same guy I"ll just send it back to him!! and I've seen many many eclipses with the skirts molded on... it looks good, very good if you ask me. But it's your baby... so you do whatever you feel will look best

Re: Fiberglass Blitz Kit from Ebaymotors.com Doesn't fit!!!

The kit is a replacement for your oem parts, such as you bumpers and skirts. You take the stock ones off, and replace them with the kit. Most commonly the parts are sized and fit before being painted, so adjustments can be made. After they're all fitted, they're painted to match the cars color. then bolted on...

Molding is when you shave the body lines and make it one smooth piece, as if it was just part of the car instead of aftermarket. Gives it a very nice clean look.
