1993 GMC Jimmy 4.3 4x4 switch problem
Ok, I read ahead and disconnected the battery for 5-10 minutes and I still have the same problem:
When trying to engage the 4x4 to either upper or lower all I hear is a small "click" and it does not lock, the truck still remains in 2wd. It seems the "click" is coming from just behind the glove box. Also, it seems the lights on the 4x4 switch blink for a second - but nothing happens. I decided to take the switch appart to see if there were any bad wires, but could find no faults... I would appreciate any help I could possibly get! Thanks, Mike |

I have a similar problem with my 1993 Jimmy...
And, when it is cold, is when I have the problem... Like <30F. so try driving slow and putting in 4HI |

And, did You use aftermarket parts? How much labor? This vehicle is no better than a car at traction/etc. without 4-wheel drive. Therefore, this is frustrating... thanks and praise for these Forums... :o) |
