gas quality

A friend told me that higher octane gas has less dirt and debris in it. Any truth in that?

What gas company has better gas? They all say they've got the best additives but which company is better?

Re: gas quality

Higher octane ,means a cleaner burn with every combustion in your engine. You will often find that you are paying around the same because of the slightly better fuel economy. That's why I use 98RON in my Corolla exclusively.

Re: gas quality

higher octane rating means better gas mileage (i noticed and compared it) and cleaner burn, better for the engine. also some people say engine will last longer...dunno about that one.

Re: gas quality

It is partially true, mycivic. The reason for this is less carbon buildup because of the cleaner/hotter burn
