Squeaky dash

Hello all,
I just thought that there may be someone out there who is annoyed to the max over a squeaky dash like I was with my car. Turns out that all I needed to do was tighten 2 screws underneath the steering column that
holds in a lower metal brace. There are 4 screws that I saw that held it in place and 2 were about half way out (never been tight, it appears)
This drove me nuts every time I got in the car. Since it is my wife's car, I only seemed to drive it when we were headed out for a longer trip and I would always forget to tend to it when I got home, only to be painfully reminded the next time. Fix was easy and now I like driving the car again!

I'll have to remember this advice. Although my 99 GT doesn't have too many squeeks or rattles yet, as I approach 50k miles it is getting progressively worse. And like you, they just about drive me crazy. This is one area that I am consistently dissapointed in American automobiles. Every American vehicle I've owned just doesn't seem to have the build quality of the Japanese and German cars I've owned in the past.
