HELP with sR20det swap start up prob.

hey peeps. i'm new to the board but i need help with my engine. First off let me say i have a s14 with a sr20det. the swap itself is pretty much complete as far as engine install, i'm having start up problems now. the engine doesnt want to stay running. I was told it could be because of my sensors like cas, maf but how do i pin put the problem or fix it. If anybody can put in their 2 cents as what can maybe fix the problem, i'll appreciate it. jeff at Ht has been very helpful throughout my engine swap. thanks.

Hi I have the same engine but with out your problem I’m going to the shop that did the swap tomorrow for some seals, I’ll ask the mechanic about your problem and I’ll let you know tomorrow OK?

I think it might be vacuum hose? If it’s the AFC then try shaking it maybe its loose and it giving bad conductivity.

Ill let you know by tomorrow for sure what he thinks … good luck!

Hi, I asked the mechanic at MotoRex about your problem, he gave me many reasons why something like that would occur, from a SHORT in the harness to a bad ECU.
If possible can you describe the situation with more details? How long does it stay on, in what fashion does it stalls out? (violently or is it just as if you shut it of with the key?)

I going to see them again on Friday to install the actuator on my car, and ill keep you updated.

good luck
