Clearcoat being a pain in the ass?
I need tips on spraying my clearcoat, and and making it look smooth as silk and not a rough coat..

my only advice to you is, "PREP!" clear coat is not used to smooth out a surface, its used to help protect the surface and also provide a highly reflective gloss to the top. if you want something that is extremely smooth than you need to sand the peice.start low, and work your way up, then do some wet sanding. spray down some primer, sand the primer with a high grit sand paper, spray another layer of primer, then do your coats of paint, and your coats of clear.

no it's like a silky gloss like I want, It's a dul, rough looking gloss. On the nice, professional like, hard paint job I put on it,

oh, then its probably the quality of the clearcoat that you bought. i'm not sure which brands are better. but that would be my guess.
