my 350 keeps dying

Hi all, I have a chev 350 in an aussie car(75 h.q 4 those who know it) and it has been in this car 4 about 18 months.. just recently as the engine gets over bout 2300 revs and has warmed up it just loses power completly and stops even at 80 mph, but if i restart the car it goes but as soon as it reachs 2300 rpm it dies again. I have pull the carb off and cleaned it(bot bowls where fuel and jets clean) and it is getting fuel but it still does it which makes me think it could be electrical any help would be great in this matter!
Cheers
Steve

Re: my 350 keeps dying

Well if its been running for 18 months then just started doing it then its a needle in a hay stack.

Does it sputter at all?

I had a truck that did that it was vapor lock.

might be a just a little clog in the line.
I'm thinking vapor lock with the Aussie summer in hand pretty easy to do.
Hope this helps at least a bit

i have the same prob. with my 86 camaro, i thought it was the thank that was varpor locking so i took of the cap and drilled a small hole in it( i havent had it vapor lock sense) but i still have the same prob. that u are having where at a high temp and an avrege high rpm it jus losses power then dies if u dont get of the throttle. i took it to a dude that specalizes in carbs and he told me it was the pin, soo.. i replaced the pin with the suggested one and it reduced the prob. but did not elemenate it. u might want to try that but remembert it didnt fix my prob..... if its vapor locking then it will ussally not die if u get off the throttle.

does it still die if u get off it when it starts to die???
good luck!!!
