Long List of problems. Should I fix or sell???
A friend of mine has a 95 Aurora. He took it to a shop to have them look it over and find out what is wrong with it. Here is the list of the things they came up with.
Transmission Cooler lines leak Oil Pan leak Oil Cooler lines leak **Engine needs resealed Water Pump is leaking Rear brake pads need changed Rear rotors need machined Front brake pads need changed Front calipers need lubed needs new air filter needs spark Plugs needs spark Plug wires front right ABS wheel sensor needs replaced Alternator needs replaced Front struts need replaced Axles need replaced They quoted 2000-2500 dollars to fix all of these things. I priced out all the specific parts I would need to fix these things and it ran about 1200 dollars. Is it worth it to fix all these things or is it to much of a hassle for this car that has 180k+ on it. **What exactly do they mean by Engine needs resealed? |

Re: Long List of problems. Should I fix or sell???
Most of those items are general maintenance that should have been performed along the way. That would concern me more than anything. If the car has been neglected, it's not worth putting any money into. No one will EVER be able to reseal these engines permanently, therefore not worth the $800 they want to do it. Unless the car's been wrecked, I doubt the axles would need replaced. Take your time and do the work you can, yourself.
