all sorts of dumb questions

i am redoing the interior of my notch. first question: where do i go to get the plastic parts of the interior dyed/painted? for the carpets and most of the soft pads i'm simply ordering new parts.

is it possible to dye or paint cushy vinyl parts like door panels and armrests, or do i have to get new ones in the correct color?

where do you get door panels for fox-bodied mustangs? i can't find any!

where's a good place to get my seats re-upholstered? or should i go nuts and just get my corbaeu buckets that are already the color i want?

and by the way, the entire passenger compartment of this car is going to be black with billet aluminum switches and crap. i'm using the dashboard and center console from a '90 LX. gonna be bad-ASS =)

exterior questions later, thanks for all your help =)

Re: all sorts of dumb questions

Sounds like a plan, I've seen the parts you're talking about dyed but I'm not sure how or where. Check the local upholstery shops about recovering your stuff, but I'm big on getting what I really want. If you get in your car every day and wish you had the corbaeu, well you see my point. Good luck.

You could find the door panels on ebay. I know I prefer ebay over pick n pull.

Re: all sorts of dumb questions

I found a ton of interior parts when I swapped mine over from red to black/gray at junk yards and want ads. I also painted some of the parts that I couldn't locate. SEM products makes quality interior paint, that won't rub of scratch off, as long as the proper steps are taken to clean the parts first.

I used SEM paint too. Needed to change gray door sills to blue on my 87 LX. Matched up really well, and has stood up well as this is a daily driver.

I had my interior reupholstered about 5 years ago - front seats and back seat - i got estimates from everybody in Panama City - cost me about
$500 back then - I was really lucky - it came out great for that price - you just need to take the time and look around and talk to other car / Mustang guys in your area. Good luck.

Re: all sorts of dumb questions

go to www.50resto.com
they have EVERYTHING for mustangs as far as interior and body parts goes.
most of the interior you can get in different colors (black, blue, grey) some of them have to be painted.
I have ordered a variety of parts from them and they are well-priced and OEM quality parts.
