new oil leak...need parts

hey guys,

one of my oil cooler lines (engine to radiator) just started leaking where the crimp is and the line goes from metal to rubber, badly enough for there to be a 5" diameter spot on the ground overnight. where should i pick up a new oil line? the local auto parts store didn't have it, and i couldn't find it on gmpartsdirect.com. anyone ever buy one and how much was it? dealer item maybe?

thanks!

doug

Dealer only item. I recently replaced my lower trans cooling hose and it was only $20. Oil line shouldn't be much more. Also, the oil lines have small o-rings at the ends. You might want to check that.

Hi Doug,

I have found this information for you. There are 2 engine oil cooler lines; the Outlet line is the one near the top of the radiator, it is gm part # 2564-6231, $46.78. The Inlet line is the one near the bottom of the radiator, it is gm part # 2564-6229, $28.92 (this one appears to be the one leaking on my car as well- maybe a common failure trend here?) and can be purchased at your dealer or at a discount online such as where I found them at (and where the prices are quoted from), PartsZoneOnline (P & G Chevrolet). Here is how you find it: Go to the site, and click on the "GM online catalog" link under the red PartsZone Online Catalogs section on the upper left corner. The just enter the part number and select the make in the # 2 section "search by factory part number".

I hope this help you out and anyone else with similar problems.
Let me know how you make out with it.

Happy to help,
~Chris
