Unhappy "S" indicator blinking and can't driver faster than 50km/hour

It's a 90 Honda Accord.
I noticed the car was noisy when driving on the high way one day if the speed was above 90km/hour.
It lasted for several days till one day the engine light on the dashboard is on and the speedometer went zero.
I took off the highway and restarted the car, everything back to normal but the car became noisy even the speed was 50km/hour.
Now, The "S" indicator on the right bottom of the dashboard is blinking. But the Engine indicator is off. I can't drive boyond 50km/hour or the car will be very noisy. (seems from engine)

I followed the instruction on the menu to find out that the engine error code 17 was stored in the cache, which indicated the error was from VSS(Vihecle Speed Sensor). But after cleaning the cache, the error code has never come back. The "S" indicator is blinking when I drive, and the speed limit is 50km/hour.

Anyone know what's the possible problem of my car? Does it worth to have this car fixed?
btw, I just replaced my tires, muffler and much more.... sigh!

Well, you're car is now about 14 years old, so I guess it's up to you whether it's worth to fix or not.

I assume when you say "Engineer" you mean "Engine" correct?

Where is the sound coming from? Under the car? The engine compartment? If you open the hood and push down on the throttle, can you locate where the sound is coming from?

Yes, it's Engine. Sorry.

The noisy seems from engine.
I drove this car to one of my friend this afternoon and the speedometer and milage meter were NOT move. After driving it for about 10km, they began to function.
My friend told me that the shift is ok, maybe the broken cable of the speedometer, does it make sense? He will have his mechanic to have a look next week.

Thanks!

Hmm I'm not familiar with this problem, but than again, I'm a newbie so... It may very well be a cable problem.
