New Corvette

Has anyone seen the new Checy commercial with the '05 Corvette? That thing is the sweetest design out of Detroit in god knows how long. I'm gonna start saving right now!!
BTW, you can check out the trailer at www.chevrolet.com

Re: New Corvette

Yeah I saw it. It looks kind of like the Callaway and an RX-8. And that New SSR...sick. I really like the all that plastic on the New Silverado too. Great to know there will be a whole new generation of Corvette Dickheads...I hate that car...

Yes I've seen it awhile back on the Corvette forum here, it does look sweet but a lot of the Vette owner's there aren't too crazy about it because they say that it looks too ricey like the RX or any Japanese styled sportscar.

I love the Vette it is the best bang for the buck IMO especially when you compare it's performance to those that costs 10's of thousands of dollars more but can't outdo the Vette on the street, strip or track.

I'd take one in black and throw in some Lingenfelter turbos just to make the party even faster.

Honestly, I don't see Japanese, I see Italian. I think it looks more like a Ferrari than anything esle, the way the body sweeps from front to back, and the headlights especially remind me of a Ferrari.

When you look at it, it does slightly resemble a viper...

Those side by sides just show everything that Dodge did wrong, and everything that Chevy did right. The new Vette looks clean, muscular, and just plain kick ass. 400 hp for around 45K? I wonder what the Z06 will put out. And there's still rumors of a 600HP "blue devil"!!

Re: New Corvette

If Dodge was so wrong, then why does the Vette look so similar?

Re: New Corvette

vette dickheads...bad call. i would take a 2004 z06 over any car thats even priced reasonably close. dodge's quality sucks, i would never buy a viper. ps...the new z06 that comn out in a few years will prolly run to 60 in 3.4 seconds with a 500hp motor. while pulling 1g on the skidpad. the corvette is the only mucsle car.

Slightly?! The front end to close for words. But I still think the Viper looks better. The 'vette looks like they weren't really sure what to do. The rear says Farrari, the front says Viper, the profile says Eclipse (or maybe Stealth). Not digging it.

Ford-GM-Chrysler. Mustang SVT Cobra- Vette z06 - Viper R/t. 390hp SC4.6L V8 - 405hp 5.7L V8 - 450hp 8.0L v10. $32-36K, $45K, $55-62K (USED). The vette isn't the cheapest, and it isn't the most powerful. There are some cooler old body styles that would have made a better update choice than the new concept.

Re: New Corvette

What I meant When I said Vette Dickheads was the way people with vettes act. Almost every Vette owner that I have come into contact with was a Dickhead. They think they are better than everyone and that their "shit don't stink" Have you ever seen the Vid of the C5 Racing the IS300? The IS keeps up with the Vette, but it Catches fire. The Vette guy just keeps going, laughing. That is the perfect example of that I mean.
Thrasher, its nice to see someone has some taste. The Viper is a much nicer car.

I haven't seen that video, where can I get it?

Is it on Kazaa? I'd still take the Vette over the Viper anyday, cost much less and does everything the Viper does, plus IMO it looks better.
