Re: Rs200 Vs As200
I am unsure of other places, but here the rs is non turbo. It is the beams vvti and pushed about 210-220 stock. It also comes with the 6 speed manual. The as is a beams 2 liter minus the vvti and it is only available with an automatic. There has been talk of a stock turbo option, but one has yet to materialize. Lots of bolt on turbos available though.....

I am currently driving an 1998 RS200 Z-edition. As for which is better, the 4 cyl is the more powerful engine, but I don't care for it much. It was fun for a while, because it revs to 8000 rpm and howls like a banshee. However, below 3000 rpm it feels like a lawnmower engine! Granted it really takes off at 5000 rpm when the vvti kicks in, but it is annoying to drive in slow traffic or start from a stop up-hill.
I prefer the v-8 from my Corvette! Can't beat the cubic inches! Maybe A turbo four wouldn't be too bad, but as far as I know the 4 cyl only comes in NA. Now a twin turbo inline 6 like the Skyline would be the ticket... -AL
