Cool heater blower motor

I've got a 1980 F-150, with A/C, and the heater's fan motor only runs on high, but not any of the other 3 speeds, anyone have some advice on troubleshooting this? Is the problem likely the blower motor itself, or the fan speed selector switch, or something else. Thanks alot!!

Re: heater blower motor

It is your blower motor. No big deal and really easy to change. Last time I bought one it cost something like 30 bucks.

Thanks for the info Pete54ford. Now lets see, if I could just find someone who has a good motor that would like to trade me for this really nice boat anchor that's in my truck........ (351W)

Re: heater blower motor

If the motor works on high, it's obvious that it is not bad (either blower motors work, or they don't). It could be either the resistor block, or the switch. No telling which without checking for voltage at the resistor block.

re: heater blower motor

can anybody tell me where the heater fan motor's resistor block is ? Is it in the dash by the fan switch, or is it in the blower motor housing, or is it somewhere else ? Thanks to all that replied to my original post on this.
