I have a problem I need help with, I pulled in the driveway in my blazer turned the blazer off and went inside the house. The next morning I went out to start the car and the key would not turn over the ignition remained locked. I tried jacking the front of the blazer up and moving the tires back and forth while turning the ignition, but it still wouldn't move. Please help I cant get the blazer out of my driveway and it's blocking my truck in the garage.

Re: 1997 Blazer ignition trouble
Well if all fails pop the lock with a screwdriver and then start the truck, GM made it easy to do.
Has the key been damaged< turning the steering wheel didnt help< You can take the steering wheel off and manually unlock it. the issue is there is a problem with the lock pins or to much tension on the lock hub. |

I bought a haynes manual to see if it could help me. I t suggested replacing the lock cylinder, the problem is you have to take the steering wheel off. In order to get the steering wheel off the chevrolet in the center part of the wheel has to be vertical 12-6 bosition, and presently it is stuck in the 2 and 7 position. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
