Hi everyone,
It's been a while, but I finally managed to get through finals and Christmas shopping. I REALLY got into the Christmas spirit. So much in fact that I went out and bought a digi camera So, here are some pics of my very first model, a Revell 1969 Camaro Z28. I'm done with most of the painting, the body still needs some sanding, clearcoats and polishing. The engine is together, but needs a little paint touch up. Glue on our fingertips is a bad thing when you're handling parts you've already painted! Plus the dang fuel filter came off (you'll see the space) so I need to reattach it.So, on with the pics, please, tell me if I'm doing anything wrong Front grille: ![]() Interior: ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, that's it for now! Looks great! The front grill came out really well.

Thank you Jay, I put a lot of time into that grill...Went over it like 3 times. The chrome kept showing thru the black...I finally got it covered. Oh and I did the grill with a toothpick
The engine will look better once I give it some attention. The body is spray painted, 3 light coats with some sanding in between. Gray primer underneath. The interior is spray paint as well, except the dash which is brush painted and doesn't look as good. When I glued in the steering column and wheel, the angle was all wrong. There was no space for legs in there, the steering wheel was resting on the front seat so I ripped it out and superglued the sucka back in.Sorry for the crappy pics, I am still sorting out this camera. Update! (pics to follow, and no I haven't diasappeared!)
After a brief hiatus (due to Christmas, school, and such) : Finished interior, front & rear suspension, and wheels. So far so good. Engine has headers and driveshaft attached, just need to drop it in. Body needs some attention, meaning sanding and polishing to remove dull orange peel effect and a few bits of dust that got into it. This is my first model, so I'm not really beating myself up over it too much (at least that's what I tell myself )What I still need to do is attend to the paint, drop in the engine & exhaust, and start the final assembly. Fitment looks OK so far. After that I want to detail the outside bits such as door handles and shut lines. I've got some BMF on the way for the rear window and other spots too. Plus I need to find a good method for painting/coloring the raised lettering on the tires white! Oh and decals!!! Updated pics to follow! |

Nice color. I love the camaro '69, can't wait to see those pictures. |

Whenever I need to do raised lettering I dip the very tip of my knife in some white paint and very carefully touch it against the letters, allowing it to run to the edges of them. It works for me but I'm sure some of the pros in here will tell you a far better way.
