the 1996 corvette grand sport convertible is a rare machine with only 190 made, i always heard and read that its underrated ? what would be the outcome between a 1996 grand sport convertible and a 1997-03 corvette convertible ?, i always figured to myself that the grand sport will take the cake ?, and one more ? the 2001 corvette z06 is only 385 hp and the 2002 z06 is 405 hp, what parts did they stick on to raise the horse in 2002 ? and the 2001 z06 is getting 12.4 1/4 runs and the 2002 is getting about the same whats the deal.

Well with the 1996 Grand sport, one of my favorite cars, it came with a engine called a LT4, only produced in 1996, it was stated to have 330hp but it was underated. The true hp of the LT4 was supposively around 355hp. Which is 10 more hp then the c5 LS1 engines with 345 hp. As far as the 2001 Z06 vs the 2002 Z06, i have never heard the '01 having 385hp and the '02 having 405. As far as i can remember they all had 405 hp. Now i do remember the 1990 - 1992 Corvette ZR1's having 385hp then in 1993 - 1995 ZR1's the upped the hp to 405. If you have any other question let me know.
