oil viscosity and fuel octane

Recently purchased a 1991 GTI with 1.8L non turbo. Was wondering what the manufacturer recommendations are for oil viscosity and fuel octane. Anyone know?

91 GTI should be... errmmm... 87 Octane... and 15w-30... i'm pretty sure thats it, but its been a while since i looked.
