Re: 25th anniversary stang

Sounds like a decent price to me. My car has 138k miles on it, but the motor has 30k on it. So the 140k shouldn't be a big concern if it's taken care of. Just so you know, there is nothing special about the 25th anniversary models, just a badge on the dash.

Re: 25th anniversary stang

You buddy is completely wrong! Ford did nothing to the 89 and 90 stangs for the 25th anniversary besides a cheap running horse emblem that says "25 years" on the dash. All 87-92 302 Mustangs were rated at 225 hp and 300 ft-lbs or torque.

Re: 25th anniversary stang

there were fluctuations in piston and air sensors, but that's about it.
perhaps that PARTICULAR car has an extra 50 hp, but that is not because it is an aniversary edition.

Re: 25th anniversary stang

Dude as far as I'm concerned milage is not an issue, within reason anyway. My car has 170k on it but the engine only has about 25k. If the motor is junk simply talk him down. Get it cheaper and spend the saved cash on the new motor since I'm sure you plan to upgrade anyway.

Re: 25th anniversary stang

yeah, buy it cheap, maybe talk him down a hundred or two, and then wait for the new 5L "cammer crate engine".
that thing will be badass.

well i dont have a large amount of cash flow
im getting about 4 grand from a court settlement so im not sure if i want to put the money into a car like that or pick up a 95 cougar xr7 with 80k and a 4.6
im thinking about getting a car that has a decent amount of miles then put some mods on it like exhaust, intake, possibly rims and tires (17x9 auminum cobra rims) i dont want a car with high miles then start driving it and have things start going on it and have to spend money fixing it instead of upgrading it
BUT i dont know ANYTHING ABOUT THIS STANG
i dont even know if its a 5 speed
so im going to look at it some time very soon
i know the stang would be a hell of alot more fun than a cougar but i LOVE the mn12 thunderbirds and cougars
its the perfect mix of luxury and sport straight from the factory
so im really stuck here

I know that this thread is old, but I just have to put my two cents in, in case someone else comes across this. THERE IS A 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF THE MUSTANG.

Okay, what that guy is saying about all of the Mustangs for that year had the badge with 25 years at the bottom of it, is right. BUT, there was specifically an anniversary edition that year!!! It was an LX Convertible!!! It only came in green with white leather interior. How do I know?!?!? I HAVE ONE!!!

I just had to say that, because I'm so tired of people who don't know what they are talking about saying that this car doesn't exist!!!

Umm, I believe you are talking about the 7-UP cars. These were not made as 25th anniversary model!

Here's a quote for you from an offical Ford book of 79-93 Mustangs. "Ford practically ignored the Mustang's silver anniversary when it elected not to build a commemorative model to acknowledge the occasion......Some enthusiast groups feel that the 1990's special production run of emerald green Limited Edition convertiables was Ford's response to the anniversary. This theory obviously stretches the time frame (April 89-April 90) somewhat and remains unconfirmed by Ford."

I also remember reading an article a while back that told how the emerald green verts were special additions used as promo's for the soft drink 7-UP. I'll have to look more into that, but I'm pretty sure it's true.
