'88 325i radio

i was thinkin bout installing a cd player, i got the stock radio out, and realized i had to run new wires to all the speakers...it's ridiculous....so i didn't even unhook anything, put the radio back in, ....yet when i turned it on, no sound came out.....the antenna is normal, the display is normal....just nothing is coming out of the speakers..i checked everything, all the wires seem secure, would the anti theft disable it???...i thought that if the anti theft disabled it, it would ask for the code...but its not asking for it, the radio is acting totally normal, just no sound.... .............any info would be gretly appreciated
