When you get a present you don't like, do you tell them?

I had a big problem with this one this year... For example I got a few "different" shirts, some gay pre-faded jeans from the g/f, and a hat that didn't fit. No matter how much they said they can exchange it if I don't like it, I still said thanks but I like it. Now I'll just hang them up in the closet forever.. Is anybody else "too polite" or whatever?

Yea...Im too polite...Ill just stick the gift away somewhere and hope nobody ever finds out that I didnt like it. This was the first year that I didnt get something that I didnt like....which surprised me since I didnt really ask for much...so I was expecting some really shitty presents.

Your not alone. Look at it this way. Some day maybe even years from now you will come across these things and it will bring back some good memories.

If there's an exchange card, use it!You can always suggest that the size wasn't quite right, and that they didn't have that particular item in your size. The whole purpose of giving a gift is to make someone happy, isn't it?

I usually dont tell the person, I just try to find out where they got it and exchange it for something I like.

I suggest this too. More than likely if someone tells you they can exchange it, it's b/c they weren't too sure themselves. Its easier with parents. But when it comes to gf they can be a little troublesome. Some girls are sincere when they say that you can return something but then there are those who try and trap you and get all pissy about it. If its something a gf got me I'd probably keep it and where it when i was with her. But thats just me.

nothing wrong with exchanging presents you dont like, depending on who gave it to you and how they;re likely to react. My gf got me some stuff which doesnt quite fit right and has no problem with me taking it back this weekend...

Cry, throw a tantrum, stamp my feet, then throw up. No, seriously...

Thow them to the ground as hard as possible, stamp on them, run them over, cry and then sulk for the rest of Christmas.......

OR just be greatful they actually put some thought into my gift, even though they failed

Use it to test your oil level too. And clean your face after meals. And dry your pets after baths. And clean your BBQ. You just aren't very bloody creative are you? Who said the sole purpose of clothes was to be worn?
