HELP PLZ front speakers create crackling in music

i just got brand new kicker 3.5"'s and 4x10's installed with a brand new pioneer deh-p360 head unit and when hte engine is running it snaps crackles and pops, but if i run it off acc then its fine. if i unplug the front speakers its fine, but if the front are plugged in and the engiens on it sounds like shit. i tried one of those inline jobs that gets rid of engine noise and its not that, the sound isnt a wind with the engine, ive also been suggested to add a inline bass filter? any help pleaase

are you using the original wires the car came with or have you run your own wires? if they are original can you try running a temp pair of wires? obviously you are getting some EMI interference b/c you get the noise when the motor is running but do not get the noise when it isnt running. maybe try re-routing your wires away from something.

nah
i tried runnin some wires jus from the spkr to the head on the outside without runnin em behind the dash and it still did it, it cant be the wires. it mostly crackles and when the bass hits and somewhat after wards,if i turn the bass down its not as bad, but the bass is the point of the stereo so i dunno

make sure you have a solid groung prefeable run from the fuse boxand hook it to the ground on your speaker as an extra wire this doule grounding some times works

I would make sure you spark plug wires are not close or touching the engine block. Some cheap spark plug wires does not have a good insulation and so it easily leaks out the high energy current and so your stereo picks it up. Alternator also creates those noise/interference.

Try use to use tie wraps and try to move the spark plug wires away from the engine block and from each other. Autoparts store sells a spark plug wire separator so you can use that in addition to the tie wraps.

You can try using this

Re: HELP PLZ front speakers create crackling in music

Ok..here you go..i have been installing audio professionally for years..and have seen this problem more times than i can count. The reasons behind engine noise/whine can sometimes be cured..and sometimes not. There are a number of factors that can attribute to what is happening..first off..3.5" and 4x10's are NOT MADE TO PLAY BASS!!--if you try to they will sound like shit no matter how low it is..if your stereo has crossovers then use em..(filters in the options menu)IF you want bass..get a sub. Since you say it is crackling and popping this is my assumption. If there is a whine of any sort..or if you are still having problems..then it can be attributed to a poor ground on the stereo, the TYPE of plugs you run in your engine..some platinum and splitfire plugs will definetly do this..(varies by car) Most common for this problem is a looped ground..the stereo and speakers are not seeing the same ground and therefore picking up signal from the engine. sometimes the wiring for the speakers cannot be near a main wiring harness with lots of power wires (I.E.--fusebox) so even though you ran new wires..it can still cause the problem. There are just those cars that cannot be solved easily..some are stubborn and can't be cured..the fix for that is to move up to a 4 channel amp for your speakers..it isolates the signal from the amp, and creates a stronger ground..(but dont run your rca jacks near a power harness either..run it on the opposite side of the car as the power wire for the amp. do not hook a ground wire from the stereo to the speaker unless it is the speaker lead only. the speakers read a certain ohm load than the ground wire..But my first thought is still with the bass..get rid of it and move up to a sub..those cars weren't designed to play the boom boom.....good luck.let me know if you have any other questions if these do not work.
