Question feedback:Rancho RS 9000(9 way adjustable)shocks

How about some feedback on Rancho RS 9000 9way adjustable shocks, for a 99 Silverado ext cab shortbed Standard susp.4x4.Truck rides nice overall, but bounces alot on cement highway with concrete seams. On asphalt highway its smooth. I see alot of comments about that on this site. I want to dial in a smoother ride. Anyone tried them?

Re: feedback:Rancho RS 9000(9 way adjustable)shocks

I just spent about $400 installed of Rancho RS9000x adjustable shocks on my 2004 Silverado 2500 crew cab 4x4. I got them cuz i got a harsh ride on some freeways in So.Cal. and I couldn't stand it. I set them on 1, which is the softest setting, and the boucing is still there.. just like the regular shock. Only difference I see, is that when I go on a smooth freeway, it feels softer. I set them now at 1 on front, 3 on back. and it seems better. I have 10 ply tires, so imma change it to D rated, to get a better ride. Anyone got those Firestone AirRide bags installed ?

Re: feedback:Rancho RS 9000(9 way adjustable)shocks

I appreciate your response, I posted the inquiry about the rancho 9000's back in feb or march.I bought them also, for my '99 1500 Silverado.I still get the bounce on cement highway(that has seams in the concrete). My front ones are set@4, and rears on 1.I also bought a set of velvet shackles($159), have'nt installed them yet. They replace the solid metal bracket(shackle)that the rear of the leaf spring connects to.the front of the leaf spring connects to the frame.according to the velvet shackle manufacturer, the leaf springs are'nt used by the suspension too much, unless you have a load in the truck bed.The velvet shackles are like a "V" laying on it's side. They absorb the up and down movement, as opposed to a solid bracket that does'nt absorb anything.here are some links if you want to just read about velvet shackles.I bought mine from the 1st link(LORD):http://www.lordcorp.com/DesktopDefau...des.html.Other than the bounce on cement highway, the truck rides pretty nice stock.Good Luck....silverado-99

Re: feedback:Rancho RS 9000(9 way adjustable)shocks

wow this is an old thread,, I also installed the Rs9000 shocks in my truck, big difference from stock, I still get a bounce over speed bumps and bridge gaps but before it was much worse with the stock shocks.
