low 11's

Ok I attend a large automotive school, so i get a chance to see all types of cars everday. Anyhow, i saw an Acura Integra GSR the other day with its bumber off. It had a large intercooler that was right in your face due to the missing bumber. So, i was at this party last night discussing Honda's with a few guys, and one of them said that they know the guy with the Turboed Integra. He continued to explain to me that the guy is running 7 Lbs of boost on a built engine that was sent of to Dart. It had Dart sleeves, JE pistons and Rods, Beefier head gasket, and most likely a built head. The guy said that it ran low 11's in the quarter, along with a couple of others at the party agreeing. they alos said he was putting like 275 out at the wheels. I was wondering what you guys think.....Personally i think it may be possible, of course with a lot of tuning.

Ok can someone plz give me permisssion to smack the shiat out of those guys who "agreed" that an integra with 275 whp, full interior and street tires could run low 11's in the 1/4?.... Ahhh screw it, I don't need permission... "SMACK" "SMACK" "SMACK".... anyways... This just maybe me, but I'm calling just because I feel like it. First of all, with a fully built engine(internals and head) your gonna be running more than 7psi at the track. I'm guessing more like 15+(or at least that's what I'd run.) But ANYWAYS, I'm just guessing that an Integra with a full interior and runnin street tires isn't going to run better than a low 12. If you don't believe me go to http://www.wheelspin.net/calc/calc8.html and put in the numbers. I would say an average full interior integra would weigh around 3150lbs. with a driver and lets say the guy's crank hp is around 340 or 350. The numbers I received with 350fwhp in the 1/4 that WheelSpin predicted would be a 12.116. A very respectable time, but then you gotta up a couple tenths of a second(maybe .2 or .3) for the fact that he was running street tires, then another .2 or .3 for the fact that he probably doesnt have a dragster tranny or probably doesn't have the perfect shifting technique. Soooo.. I'm estimating he probably ran no faster than a 12.4 unless the 7psi figure was wrong and he was running more than 275whp. Just my but low to mid 12's are still verrry fast.

Re: low 11's

Gotta go with BS on that one also. I doubt there is anyway he is pushing 275 at the wheels on 7psi. And a dart motor can handel WAY more than that even eith the high compression of the GSR so that has to be his street boost and he ups it at the track. And I highly doubt there is much of anything that runs 11's on street tires w/ a full interior.

If it has new pistons and a thicker head gasket then the compression wont be as high. But i will call BS too, 275 is not enough for "low 11s" Maybe they said 375? I'd hope someone with a sleeved block would run more than 7 psi.

hmm... it's too hard to believe, not to mention the engine mods, why 7 psi if he built the motor? at 275 whp on street tires w/ full interior i say lo 13's to hi 12's if lucky.

Thanks Spectre927 I forgot to add that into my equation too... thats another .2 to .3 seconds because of FWD. So that rounds out to be about a 12.6-12.8 in my book, and I would have to say thats with an experienced driver.
