Well, ive finally decided to go for a couple of non-Tamiya cars, cant wait forever for new releases. Can any one of you experienced car modelers tell me just which Aoshimi kits are good quality. I have actually ordered two Aoshimi kits from HLJ but i can always change them again before the 7th of Jan.
Appreciate any help, Mike. |

Re: New Order !!!
Thought this was a thread about the renowned '80s Manchester pop group who wrote such classics as 'Blue Monday'

Mike, what sort of thing do you want to build? Modern stuff ...tuner ...old etc??
I find with Aoshima, their older kits tend to be motorised, although some are still very good in spite of this. Their later releases are generally pretty good. I recently picked up, of all things, their MadMax Interceptor and it's a cracking kit! Really detailed and very nicely molded. I have an Aoshima Honda Accord Wagon kit and that looks pretty good but I haven't got to looking at it closely yet. I've been doing one of their Datsun 720 pickup lowrider kits and that is junk..not recommended. I have the three Nissan Silhouette cars they did ( Bluebird, Skyline and Silvia) and despite being motorised they are really nice models with good detail. I have found Hasegawa kits go together pretty well ..much like Tamiya. You could always get yourself an older Fujimi Enthusiast Kit ...they are pretty good and very detailed. Take a look on Hobby Search website...they often have pictures of the kits contents and scans of the build instructions too. |
