My brother bought a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse rs. He's got 17's, Magflow exhaust, full body kit, wide body conversion as well...I was just wondering if he should go to more of a show car or is there any way that he can actually have mods that will make him compete with the rest.

Re: One quick question...
Ok.Comepte with the rest, who? Racers? Show cars?
So he has a widebody kit, rims, magnaflow exhaust. What kind of tires? How about suspension works? Drum to Disk rear brake conversion. Painted calipers matched with an engine color scheme. Paint job? That's all for show. For go, Accelerated Autosports turbo kit or RippMods Supercharger kit. Depending on his tranny, either a lightened flywheel and either an Exedy, ACT, or Centerforce clutch. His engine is able to take a properly tuned FI system to 15 psi. That will net him around 370 whp and put his car in the 12's, with slicks and right set up. Which includes clutch, flywheel, or torque converter, full 3 inch exhaust, header or downpipe. But the tranny is not able to take much more than that. |

He was just stuck on whether he should continue to more of a show car, or a drag car. And how much would it cost for him to get into the 12's anyways? |

Re: One quick question...
Well, with all he has done so far, his car is the opposite of what a drag car is designed to be.
It would cost him maybe a little less than $5000 to get into the 12's using RippMods SDS (Supercharge Drive System). The SDS itself is $3400, Water/Meth injection and Stage II is $1000, and an upgraded pulley to run 15 psi can be ordered. Then he would defintely need a clutch (as the stock can only handle up to 170 ft/lb of tq), Kazz LSD, and slicks. |
