Re: Japanese Touch-screen Display?
I've got a similar model, and its pretty straight forward.
the GPS doesnt work obviously - its set for Japan. But you can still play with it ![]() The 2 buttons on the top left, and the two below them are for GPS, so you can pretty much ignore them. The green button on the CD/Tape etc is steeings. Once your in settings, the top bar is the balance, and the bottom left is fader, the rest are EQ (low-Mid-High). The green button in settings is to return. In CD - the CD/Track display is pretty obvious. The 4 buttons: Repeat, Random, Rewind, Fast Forward. The bottom numbers are jsut the CD numbers. On to tape (gee you're lucky I dont have much work to do today). Top 5: Program, Repeat, Dolby B NR, REwind, FastForward In the dolby menu - you just increase or decrease the noise reduction. On to Aircon- The left button just shows you the temperature outside - press it once and it'll show the temperature outside - but make sure you press it again otherwise it'll automatically change the aircon to that temperature. The next button just cycles through aircon modes (economic, etc.). I assume you know what the rest do. Ass for that message... I've never seen that before. But I think 1 says something about the battery being low without the engine on. does this only appear when the engine is off? 2 says it'll shut off the display in 15 seconds. If I were you I'd check the battery of the car - if its still the original Japanese batter it'll probably need replacing - which is kind of what the display is telling you. Hope all that helps - any others let me know and you might catch me on another quiet day when I've got too much spare time

Hi Yippie
Sorry for seeming like a snob. I didn't get any replies for so long and I didn't bother going back. I just happened to check in with another issue and saw your reply. Thanks for all the info. Most of it I managed to figure out but you mentioned a couple of things I didn't know. The "Low Battery" warning you mentioned does only come up when the engine is off. Real handy to know. My new problem is the corner proximity sensors. They stopped working! What's it like in the Bahamas? |
