Will this still work if I.....
looking to pull the speed sensor out of a rental truck (chevy 1500 pickup i think it is) to bypass the mileage fees. $0.49 a mile on a 1200 mile trip is not my idea of a good deal. So i figured id make it a good deal and only log on as many "local" miles as I want to.
 Now my REAL question is;  Does the trans get a signal from the speed sensor too for TC lockup?? I though it only controlled the odometer and the speedometer. And I can live without those two but I might need the TC lock up!!  Diggin these smileys!! Thanx guys!

The PCM uses the VSS as part of the parameters to calculate fuel trims, trans shift points and TCC operation...if it is disconnected, it will set a DTC..also, some rental companies have tamper identifiers for just that reason..
