diagnostic codes
Apparently there is a way to connect jumper cables to the DTC 8 pin connector below the steering wheel. Does anyone know which connections to jump? After doing so, I'm told that the "service engine light" will flash out the trouble codes (blinking twice = 2, etc). I assume this occurs after you turn the engine ON but don't start it. I'm not sure which connections to jump. I have a '96 Tahoe. Please reply by reposting your answer and email me at [email protected]
Thanks. |

only way to get codes from yours is with a scan tool, if you jump any terminals you will probably be buying something you didnt need earlier

Trouble codes
What you're describing is for pre '96 vehicles in general (OBD I). What you own has a OBD II system as are current models. OBD means On Board Diagnostics.
