Anyone have Engine Failure on 99 Rodeo 3.2L?
My 99 Rodeo just blew a piston and needs a new engine at 85K miles. I have been diligent about changing oil and other preventive maintainence. The mechanic in my small town has seen 3 of these catastrophic failures in 18 months.
Anyone else seen this problem? Any advice on hoe to deal with Isuzu? $5500 repair estimate from the dealer. Last edited by marley10; 12-31-2003 at 06:46 PM. |

Sorry to hear about that
. Not a good way to start the year! You see posts of this happening more & more lately . It seems to be happening most to the 3.5L, and IIRC- is typically a spun #1 connecting rod bearing, resulting from low oil level. If you dont mind me asking, was your oil level low when it blew? and what viscosity oil have you been using? Joel |

Here's a new replacement engine looking for a home: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2451866168
Could probably make it work for a 1998+ trooper as well. Joel |
