Hot Rod Magazine Articles on the 4.3 V6

Hot Rod Magazine carried articles on building up the 4.3 V6 in its August 2002 and October 2002 issues. In the first article they build up a what looks like an early 90's motor. They used traditional hot rodding techniques including forged pistions ( .060 over, 9.5 to 1 compression), a cam, 1.6 to 1 rocker arms, a port job on the heads with 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves, a 650 cfm carb, Edlebrock performer manifold, MSD ignition, and Hooker S-10 long tube headers. The motor ran a best dyno of 300hp and 316 ft lbs.

In the October issue they took the same motor and installed a Vortech blower and pulled off a 501hp dyno run on 12 psi of boost and 100 octane racing gas. They claim the little motor would be reliable at 450hp on 91 octane with an unspecified lower boost pressure.

If anybody has any leads on info for building up the 4.3, like FAQ's, websites or articles please let me know.
