Re: Wheres Opel From??
Quote:
The origin of Opel is a town called Ruesselsheim in Germany which is located near Frankfurt am Main. It was founded in the 19th century and the first car was built in 1899 (they had been building e.g. sowing machines and bicycles before cars). In the 1920's it became a part of General Motors and it's GM's main brand in Europe, a bit like Chevrolet in the USA. It's one of the most common and biggest car brands in Europe. |

Re: Wheres Opel From??
Opel is a German company, absorved by GM at the 20's decade. Is the "European Chevrolet", but is a popular brand with balanced products.

Opel made the Vauxhalls?? You sure? Way, way back in high school during 1959, my parents bought a Vauxhaul Victor when those cars were imported by the Pontiac dealers. I loved the car even if it was equipped with the "slam-it-again" front doors. The paint faded quickly and polishing didn't do much to improve the dead-paint look, but it was a fun car. You could sneak two people in the trunk and one girl curled up tight under the right front dash into the drive-inn movies. One afternoon I was slowly proceeding through a traffic lighted intersection and got T-Boned by a drunk driver. I don't know which was worse: Being in the hospital for a week or losing the car that was totaled.
