Alright so we do know that the Tib is slightly heavier that most of the cars in it's class.

Pros?
Cons?

Anyone?

Just like to start conversations on this

well, the tib is heavier because it has a very stiff suspension, which makes it a better handling car than others in its class.

this of course makes it slightly slower though in a straight luine.

Re: What are the weights of the different trims (Base vs GT) (Manual and SemiAutomatic)

None of us are going to like to hear this, but it's true.... the 03 tib 4cyl is one of the slowest cars in it's class.... I did a little research (actually thinking it was one of the fastest) and took the bhp and the weight of about 30 different 4cyl sports coupes between 15 and 19k and there were very few cars that would have a slower 1/4 mile time than the tibby.... don't dispair though, the 03 tib has been robbed of a LOT of hp through small mistakes in engineering by Hyundai and as a result it is VERY easy to make our cars MUCH faster. Intake, exhaust and some lighter wheels will put us right up there with the Neon R/T.... one of the fastest cars in our class.

but, you have to take into account there are other types of driving than just drag. Because of the weight of the Tiburon, it does great at touge and autocrosses since it's more manuverable etc

Re: What are the weights of the different trims (Base vs GT) (Manual and SemiAutomatic)

also i was going to ask. Did you check the top speeds and the slalom times for the Tib? They are normally higher than other cars.

Re: What are the weights of the different trims (Base vs GT) (Manual and SemiAutomatic)

nope, didn't check on either of those... Like I said, we have our own benefits so nobody should be terribly upset that we aren't the fastest thing out there on the 1/4.... also, we've got to keep in mind that my research was based on raw figures and didn't take into account the driver or traction.... and let's face it, tiburon owners are usually the best drivers.
