Thermostat replacement

Anyone had experience replacing the driver's/rear thermostat in a T&C? Anyone had problems with the thermostat working properly? Ours has never worked as expected on our '97 LXi - it will blast either cold air or hot air depending on whether the control is to the left or right of center, but we can't get it to be cool, warm or moderate. Every time we've taken it to the dealer to be fixed, the dealer says it is working properly. They probably just check to see if it blows hot air when on heat and cold air when on cool. So I'm ready to try replacing the thermostat to see if it makes a difference. Or is there something else I should investigate?

Behind the glove box is a smell temp sensor that can burn out. That may be causing all your trouble. It will either blow high or not at all. It is very easy to replace. There 2 5/16 bolts and 2 wire connectors plugged into it. If you replace it take the black rubber seal from the old one and put it on the new one. The part is about $60.00 Canadian.
