One more Tranny question.... every1 look please!

ok i'm getting SO confused now, what tranny fluid do i use?? dealership says 5w30 motor oil or there stuff, i used a bit of 5w30 to top my old one off and it exploded, other people say 10w30, 10w40 motor oil or 80w90 gear oil!?!?!?! what the hell do i use?? please tell me ASAP... (meaning before tommorow morning when we go out and get just anything)

i use only honda tranny fluid. you can get it from the dealer.

yea well my dads a dumbass and wont get any, granted its 7 bux a liter and i only need 2 but he says he's gonna put oil in it and run that through for a week then flush it and re-fill it with more oil....

10W-30 also. 5W might be a little better for realy cold winters.

I always use the Honda fluid. It may be expensive, but it is worth it... The trans in my accord was pretty messed up from some burnouts, but after i flushed it and some new fluid (like 9 litres) it good as new. I do get the stuff for free tho..

yea i just basically said screw it and went 2 the dealership and got there stuff
my god this tranny feels SO much better then my old one!!!
it doesnt stick going into 3rd or 4th, and it doesnt make a clunk going into 1st or reverse! its so sweet no grinds no nothing
I'm gonna try and grab the digital one day and snap a pic of the old tranny and then pull it apart so u guys can see what damage it did

Good thing you used Honda MTF, that stuff is the best. I put that in my tranny when i rebuilt my motor and it shifts smoother, and doesnt grind into gear anymore..I have also heard good things about GM synchromesh tranny/gear oil too!
