Okay, this is my father's car, and he had some problems with it over the past few days, so here it is...
His battery died or something, while the car was running, so had had to get a jump every so many miles. The "Service Engine Soon" light comes on sometimes and then it don't. Also, today, when I went out to take a look at it, it started right away, first try, but every time you give it the gas, the battery light comes on in the instrument cluster. Shortly after letting it get to normal operating temperature, the car shut off, just died. So is there anyone out there who knows what's wrong with the car, or what I can do to fix it? This is a very difficult task for me , and I appreciate any information greatly. Thanks.

Re: Battery Light in 97...
Hey there,
That is exactly what happened with my 87 escort. It turned out to be the alternator needed to be replaced. You may want to get your alternator tested. Hope that helps. Marnie |
