Question Known X problems

Beside the fuel sending unit and exhaust manifold, are there any other common problems with the X?? Also, before the fuel sender goes out, does it give any indications?? I travel on interstate 83 and 81 (in Pa) every day, so I would hate for that thing to go out while driving on 81. Thank.

The first indication I had a problem with my fuel sender was when the engine died doing 70mph in the fast lane on the 101 Fwy. in Hollywood. I had just under 1/4 of a tank on the gauge. I just put the hazards on, and drifted to the right as best I could.
This was me:
People were screaming out the windows about being late for auditions and meetings with their agents, but I was finally able to crawl onto the shoulder, where the nice Metro guy slipped me some petrol. The woman at the dealership said it was probably out of gas, and that there was no problem, but it died again when I tried to start it. I was like...
Uh...no.

Re: Known X problems

other great problems include the rims cracking on the older models, and shitty heat shields under the exhaust that vibrate at certain RPMs. other than that, unless u have my luck, your truck should be fine

Re: Known X problems

I had both the window motors on the rear doors go out on my 2001. I paid about $70 for each (it was just out of warranty - about 38,000 miles on it) and replaced them myself. The symptoms started with the windows coming up slower and slower over time. I called Nissan about it and they sent me a voucher worth $70 (I only called after the first one went out) that was only good for Nissan parts and services at a dealership.

Re: Known X problems

Um, I guess you missed it, but window regulators are under recall or warranty extension, with reimbursement to those who already paid out of pocket for repairs/replacement prior to the campaign.

Instrument dimmer switch (that thumbwheel thingy) seems to be mentioned fairly often...
