Lightbulb I have seen the light

After having to set at home the past few days do to my tranny problems I have seen the light and it is good. I know I've been saying I want to stay automatic but I realize that if I took all the money it would take to build an auto I could have a built 5spd at half the cost! So its time for a swap. Since I'm getting a ZC I'll need a shopping list of sorts. What do I need to successfully do the swap? Here is what I think I'll need: the 5spd tranny, a manual ECU, Dseries shift linkage. Is that all? I think if I can get all the parts I can do the swap in 48 hours of time.

Re: I have seen the light

I saw the light when I first got my car and a sprint turbo whooped on me.. While my car is slowly going through first and waiting to go to 2nd, he's just leaving me because he's already midway though 3rd.

Didn't anyone tell you long ago that an auto Honda doesn't make sense if you want it to be fast for an affordable cost?!

Re: I have seen the light

Yeah alot of people told me not to spend money on building the automatic but at the time I was dead set on leaving it the way it was. I was wondering something else. Will it be easier on the swap if I take the clutch pedal assembly I already have and take it to a garage and have them install it. The clutch pedal will be added to the automatic assembly already on there so I just want them to put the clutch pedal assembly on and the clutch cable to hang around until I take out the tranny and switch it and put in the shift linkage. How much do you think they would charge me to do just this?

Re: I have seen the light

You need the whole pedal set!
The auto brake is like 6" long!

Re: I have seen the light

Thanks man but I can get everything I need in about 3 weeks for free when my friend Joel takes his D16 out of his old crx and sends it to the junk yard (extreme weather damage). But until then I need to get a new tranny (automatic) so I can get to school and work. Will any automatic tranny work in my dx; automatic tranny from 88-00?
