I have a 1997 gst with the infinity cd/cd-changer/tape/radio system. my cd-changer is not working so well... fm radio is busted... but i just got an ipod! so i would like to hook it up. now since the fm is busted, i cannot use the fm modulator. and i don't want to use the tape adaptor because of the bad quality of sound. so i would like to put a 1/8 inch stereo input line so i can plug the ipod in.
has anyone done this before? can i tap it in somehow from the cd changer plug? anyone know the pinout of that din plug? any help would be much appreciated. thanks in advance! |

Re: How to add a line-in connection to stock radio?
you are going to have to go with the tape adapter. i have an Eclipse cd deck that has a line in plug, Alpine also does with a seperate adapter and Panasonic has a built in line in plug.

Re: How to add a line-in connection to stock radio?
If you haven't figured out a plan yet for your sound system woes, I have an option for you. I just removed my mitsu/infinity head unit # E026 and 6 disk cd changer model # cd-3000c-ms. I will give you a good deal if you are interested? Both are from my 95 gsx and are in top notch condition....

Re: How to add a line-in connection to stock radio?
I have the same question...but for a 2004 Eclipse with a stock Infinity stereo with a 6 CD changer, and no tape deck. There's no way to run an input into the stereo for an iPod? What if the CD changer is disconnected?

Great news for us sticking with the factory head unit...as long as Audiovox's new kit supports it, which I assume it will. |
