2000 Z28 vs. 350 Z

Well this race really isn't that old. The mods on my Z28 are: Z06 intake manifold, whisper lid, slp underhood ram air, K&N filter, maft, hpp3 program (Can't program in performance due to low octane fuel rating in Ca.), panhard rod, Edlebrock 100 shot, and magnaflow muffler.
NOTE: I didn't use the nitrous oxide system.

I was cruising back hom on the 210 freeway (I work in Woodland Hills, and have to use the 101-405-118-210 freeway's). I see a black 350 Z from behind me. He is weaving in and out of traffic, following me (Hey man I work graveyard, you'd want to get home soon too ). He is pacing me. The traffic actually wasn't that bad this day (I guess MTA decided to not go on strike this day). He jumps on it, and I have to play catch up. I have the car in 4th gear (We're at about 75-80 mph, so 3rd probably would have been better, since I have 3.42 gearing). I mash the gas pedal. 80-90-100 mph. About 90 mph I am right on his rear bumper, and I can hear that engine singing. The LS1 is not to be denied of its top end glory though, and by 100 I am ahead of him. I keep in on the gas. I believe I ran the car up to about 120 ish. The 350Z is behind by alot, he might have gotten out of it. He continues to follow me. I had a shit eating grin on my face. This guy had a head start, and I still beat him. I look over at him and see him bowing his head up and down LOL . He was a good sport about losing (Wow there's a first for everything). All in all it was a fun run. I think he would have done alot better from a dig, especially since I can never get traction.

good run.

I love the way the 350z sounds... that exhaust note is.... almost Ferrari like.

I just recently used that thing on my S-10 setting it to 87 octane, and damn I was surprised how much of a difference that made. About to try the 93 octane setting once I'm almost out of gas.

Nice Kill 2000LS1Z28, I cruise the 210 also when I'm looking for a run (usually W though). Maybe we'll bump into each other one of these days. BTW Fontana is set to open again Sat. 1/10/04. Anyone else going?

Re: 2000 Z28 vs. 350 Z

Hmm I might be there. On the juice I think I might leave you (I ran 13.1 sec. at 113 mph on a bad day). All motor you should win though, although my car traps higher N/A (You must be able to drive, whereas I suck).
