Code 31

I have a 91 Park Ave and it stalls intermittently. The ECM is showing a code 31 but this model does not have a MAP sensor. Does anyone have other suggestions. Thanks.

Re: Code 31

Typically, the MAP sensor reading would indicate MAP sensor issues. This code is set when engine rpm, airflow and TPS readings do not agree. It is possible for low fuel pressure, or a defective cat convertor to cause this problem. Is the engine slightly low on power? These are the places to check first. Ray

Re: Re: Code 31

Thanks for the quick response. The engine runs fine, no loss of power, it just stalls out. Since it does not have a MAP sensor, do you think that the TPS and the MAF sensor are not agreeing or something. Each of those sensors have their own codes and those codes do not come up. Thanks again. John
