You should beat most common cars as long as you get a manual. I think the new accords have around 240HP or so. You can buy a few upgrades and be able to run a good race. When you get enough money, you can do TT conversion.

is when you take the twin turbo's off a vr-4 and put them an a sl or base.

Re: with a 3000GT SL...will i be able to...?
isn't that looked down apon because of all the work that's involved. amount that is cost is not worth the effort. too much is needed to do a tt conversions including the awd conversion, intake and coolent, lsd, frame frabication. it's about as much as a vr 4, without the work.
also, is there such a thing as a super charger for a 3k, or a dual supercharge cuz it's a v6? |

Re: with a 3000GT SL...will i be able to...?
Alot of people have done it to their SLs or base models. It's not looked down upon by any means, its just a job that requires a hell of alot of work, alot of parts off a vr4 and possibly a bit of fabrication. Some guys have done it and I think that's awesome. You are right, straight off you will have some traction issues, but not all go for the AWD, with LSD and a good driver the car can have decent starts and obviously wont have as much power loss due to the drivetrain, therefore it will be a better contender at higher speeds.
AS to the original question, the SL can hold it's own. It does low 15s/high 14s in the quarter mile, has 222hp DOHC engine and should take down plenty of other v6s, and kill 4cylinder hondas. And as said before there are mods that can be done to improve the power a bit. If you really want to rape most anything on the street, get a vr4. as far as supercharging an SL, I believe that some people have found a supercharger that works with them, but I havn't heard of a twin supercharged setup for them yet. |

Re: with a 3000GT SL...will i be able to...?
Correct, I failed to take that into account. I didn't intentionally mean to compare it to the vr4. I was trying to point out the advantage of FWD vs. AWD. If you did a tt conversion on an SL, as you have done, that FWD has advantages over an AWD conversion.

but just like the srt4 font wheel drive is gonna throw you off at the beginning with all that power as awd will just take off. just as the supra has just as much hp but we take off faster, and stay ahead, unless you upgrade from there. did i just say something somone else just said?
