program to turn off change oil message

can someone tell me what the code is to turn of the change oil message on my 2001 Tahoe? I am doing my own oil changes and would like to turn off that message. I had a fellow at the Chevy grage turn it off once and it was done with some combination of ignition switch and gas pedal I think.

close doors, with key on engine off pump gas pedal 3 times and release within 5 seconds, the change oil lamp will start to flash and then the battery symbol will come back on after it has reset, cycle ignition.

I tried this procedure and it did turn off the message after the second try. At the same time, maybe just coincidentally, the horn stopped working. Is there any connection? Is there a code to get the horn to work again?

the horn has nothing to do with it. your vehicle has 2 horns, each has a fuse also, i believe in the underhood fuse block. good luck.
