Question Carbon Fiber Effect?

What up Homies? I was wondering how do you get the carbon fiber effect? Example on mufflers, Hoods, Wings and so on if anyone can help me on this it would be great. Peace Out Homies

Re: Carbon Fiber Effect?

first off, i must say i hate how you say homies....

but i like that chick, she's alright

anyway, carbon fibre, get some fine black sandpaper, and cover it with white glue, it should look and feel like carbon fibre. (cut out into desired shape)

Re: Carbon Fiber Effect?

Err, David, you may be happy with the sandpaper effect but decals are the best way to go for replicating carbon fibre. Chubbs, try running a search on the subject, reading the FAQ and the tutorial sticky. Should find plenty of info thay way.

I use scale motorsport CF decals , very high quality. I have not used the SAS decals but from what I see they are very high quality.
I also use microsol setting solutions to add in conforming to the part as seen here on the intake and valve covers

BTW I am no-ones "HOMIE" 38 going on 39 and far from a homie, I wear my pants around my waist like the are meant to be and my boxers are not showing. SO in the future please don't refer to everyone as a homie and please use proper english, AF has a wide variety of people from all over the world and slang is not the best way to communicate with them

TIP: Go to the 'How to' section, I wrote a 'How to' on applying C/F decals to complex surfaces, should help you.

Someone ( Freakray maybe?) did a nice how to awhile back that you might look for, great pics. But to answer your question quickly, you can make a pattern by applying masking tape to the part. Once you have it correctly cut to shape remove it and use it as a template, stick it to the CF and cut it out. I used that method to do the seat insert on the drivers side seat ( Scale Motorsport decal - they have a wide variety inluding animal skins ) sorry for the poor picture quality I was in a hurry
